Rivers of London Thoughts
Dec. 3rd, 2018 09:37 pmI recently reread the series in prep for Lies Sleeping, and am now reading them all again. Just cuz. I have a lot of thoughts about the series, and at some point I hope to be able to articulate them. There is one that I really keep coming back to: Peter Grant is his mother's son.
One of the main things I connect with Mamusu "Rose" Grant is the fact that she is a believer in community. She may (ok in my head she totally is) be the person who fosters and helps maintain the wide group of people she considers family. Throughout the books one of Peter's main goals is to bring the Folly into the community that its supposed to police. I honestly 100% believe, pry it from my cold dead hands, that Peter's belief in community (how important community is, how important it is to be a part of the community) comes from his mother.
